Business Card Design Winner

Designed a business card for to distribute across Europe, as part of a competition. The design was printed and handed out to business partners at various summitts across the globe during 2009.

I served as class representative for NUI Galway's 3rd year Information Technology class as part of the Bachelor of Arts programme. Such tasks included gaining feedback on classes, lecturers, and any other aspect of the course & liaising with the department staff to ensure a smooth day-to-day running of the module. I also successfully organised class events.

I worked with the client to figure out their project requirements, and design preferences before prototyping an initial mock-up of the project. Fully-responsive and browser standards compliant. Assigned as a Final Year Project in my BA Hons degree, paired with another class student, we strived to create a working social network dedicated for students to showcase their credentials to potential employers. Throughout the course of the project we delved into JavaScript and proactively engaged with modern technologies such as Node.js and MySQL to create our solution. We deployed the app on AppFog, via the command line.

A simple web application that fetches the latest 3 Day Weather Report for the city a user has entered. The user's input is checked against a freely available world weather news' forecast & if the town exists it will return the weather. If incorrect, an error is displayed. The function to retrieve the weather is written in PHP where the file and its results is called using AJAX. The site makes use of Twitter Bootstrap for its look & feel.

To mark the world's biggest footballing event, I set myself the challenge of creating an engaging and fully responsive website that could cater for followers of the 2014 World Cup. Using WordPress and a cloud host, World Cup today raked in thousands of visits, with Search Engines proving a major source as I tried out various SEO techniques which resulted in the site ranking very high for competitive search terms.

Assigned as a year-long project as part of my Masters, I teamed up with four other classmates to set about creating a database driven, web service directory for the Galway branch of Saint Vincent de Paul. The purpose of the design was to be extremely simplistic for the given target-group and ensuring that the members of the charity could use the service with ease. The project was completed on time, and regarded as a success by both the charity and the development team.

A fully-functioning , asesthetically pleasing showcase for an established musician. As a musician myself I knew what the true requirements for such a website would be - including its layout, the styling of images, and indeed a focus on what the individual offers, for eg. his CD. I also deployed some SEO techniques which ensured that the website ranked #1 for not only his name, but on the first page for a various competitive terms such as 'changing time'.

Eper12x is a site I was asked to design and develop for an American marketing guru. The intention of the site to to promote his skillset and an online course which he is offering. In order to provide an ecommerce faciliity I needed to integrate a payment gateway and custom user login areas. The end product was a good-looking product which has resulted in a substantial increase in sales for the client.
